Larger screens (above 20ft) require specialized rigging, please talk to us and your grips and rigging departments about the best way to achieve the desired results.

We have outriggers available for hire, but we suggest the Key Grip is the best person to discuss the frame rigging requirements. They are "on set" and can make the best call on the day, conditions dependant.

Remember you can use many layers of green, and different types of green media in the same shot - you are only shooting a colour value.

We supply a vast range of Digital and ChromaKey screens, and all support equipment. Frames, paint, tapes, card, suits, hoods, gloves and all your screen needs.

We have screens available in Digital and Chromakey blue, green and red, available in various fabric types for different applications.

Basic screen package includes screen, dutchman joiner (velco backed narrow screen strip to join multiple screens, or hide frame edges) and frame or stand kit.

Green Screens

    

Green Screens are available in many an various sizes. We have screens in Digital Green and ChromaKey Green in sizes from 4ft to 240ft. We have screens available in various materials to suit different applications.

Blue Screens

    

Blue Screens are available in many an various sizes. We have screens in ChromaKey Blue and Digital Blue in sizes from 4ft to 240ft. We have screens available in various materials to suit different applications.

Red Screens

    

Digital Red screens in sizes from 6ft to 20ft.

Support Equipment

    

Texas Productions carry all the Screen support equipment you will need. We can supply stand kits, tapes, paint, card, suits gloves hoods, cutters, floppies, shot bags etc for your shoot.

  

 

Support Equipment

    

Screens come with Solid frames for interior or exterior use. These are from 1" box section, through 48mm scaff and fold out frames and outrigger supports. Stand kits are available for smaller screens. These have adjustable height stands and telescopic poles. Shot bags also available.

  

 

Suits

    

We have a range of Green and Blue screen suits, gloves, hoods, socks, tights in many sizes.

  

 

Flexi Screens

    

Easy travelling Flexi Screens available. Blue on one side, green the other. Just hang on a C Stand, hand hold etc.

8ft x 8ft (2.4m x 2.4m) or 5ft x 7ft (1.5m x 2m). fold up into round bag.

  

 

Floor coverings

    

Texas Productions stock robust key material specially designed for floor coverings and other tough applications. We also have pre painted heavy floor canvas that can be used for cars etc when a fabric may move. Also good for dancers etc. Blue and Green.

  

 

Paint

    

We have Blue and Green digital paint available in 1, 4, and 20 litre pales.

  

 

A Note about the Lighting of Blue and Greenscreens:


Texas Productions will endeavour to supply screens with as close as possible colour match between screens. Sometimes the shade between screens will vary due to dye lot, age etc, but always remember you are just shooting a “colour value” -  the actual fabric never appears on screen! (please see image from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland in left column).


For the best results the screens need to be lit evenly, and with the best possible colour saturation. Evenness is easily achieved using a soft light source and a wide beam spread. The best saturation of colour is achieved by using blue-spike lamps (420nm) on blue screens and green-spike lamps (525nm) on green screens, or gel to correct the lamp colour - it will produce the best saturation of reflected blue or green light.

Using unfiltered Blondies or Redheads for example, will actually throw a warm cast on the screen (lower colour temperature value) pollutting the colour value, and producing more colour variation in the fabric, making for a more difficult key. Take the time to gel your lamps to the correct colour temperature, or use Kino Flo Super Blue or Green tubes for the best results.

Screens are to be used in an upright situation only, we can supply flooring material, or floor canvasses in the appropriate colours if needed.
Screens are NEVER to be used in, or near, chlorinated pools. Chlorine gas strips colour from screens. Even when used in a swimming pool environment, but not in the water, screens WILL BE DAMAGED, and replacement costs will be forwarded to the hirer.
